At the House Judiciary Committee hearing, Congressman Matt Gaetz (Republican-FL) claimed to be in possession of the Hunter Biden laptop and sought unanimous consent to enter into the Committee's record its contents, which was objected to by Chair Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

Addressing in House, Rep. Gaetz said:
Tell you what Mr. Chairman, I seek unanimous consent to enter into the record of this committee the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop which I'm in possession of (Rep. Matt added)
Chairman: I'm not there's no objection to that. I can't say no objections pending further investigation.
Matt: What's the basis of that objection?
Chairman: It's the unanimous consent request and I object pendulum.
Matt: I have a subsequent question Mr chairman I seeking names' consent to enter into the record the receipt, the MAC shop. (Congressman Matt here tried to say but the chairman responded after this)
Chairman: It may very well be entered into the record after we look at it further.
Matt: Well, Mr. John, I have a subscriber, I seeking him is consent to enter into the record the receipt from the department (Matt tried to say but stopped here, later chairman asked Ms. Demings to speak)
