In a video released to social media, Hillary Clinton endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY).
On September 5, 2016, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton endorsed Kathy Hochul for New York Governor on social media. Clinton, who served the Empire States as a senator from 2001 to 2009, praised the incumbent governor and urged voters to keep her in Albany for the full term.
Hochul Rose took power following the resignation of Andrew Cuomo last year. While she began her campaign with a strong lead on Republican Lee Zeldin's reasons, polls have shown the GOP challenger closing the gap.
Hochule's faltering prospects are due to voters' concerns about crime and public safety. And a debate remark about locking up criminals has dogged Hochul.
Hochul has been a strong ally of Clinton, praising her earlier this year at the New York state Democratic convention. She is considered a possible 2024 presidential contender, though she has said she doesn't plan to run.
Addressing the New Yorkers, Hillary Clinton said these words:
Hello, New York It's Hillary Clinton, and we've got a big election to win on November the 8th.
There is so much at stake and New York needs a strong leader; someone who will protect the fundamental right to abortion, not deny women their right to choose; someone who will protect our communities from gun violence, not put more dangerous weapons on our streets; someone who will prioritize working families and invest in child care education and good-paying jobs, not reverse the progress we're making; and someone who will stand up for democracy, not spread the big lie and not stand in lockstep with Donald Trump and the insurrectionists. That's why New York needs my friend Kathy Hochul.
So it's our job to show up at the polls to help her continue defending New York values. You can vote early from October 29th to November 6, or on Election Day, November 8th. Just make sure that you make your voice heard and that your vote counts for Governor Kathy Hochul.
