At today's House Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) got into a fight over her comments about Tucker Carlson receiving January 6 footage.
There was a heated exchange between Rep. Jim Jordan and Del. Stacey Plaskett during a House hearing on the weaponization of the federal government. The argument reportedly began when Del. Plaskett criticized Rep. Jordan for calling witnesses who she believes pose a direct threat to people who oppose them.
Del. Plaskett then went on to say that it was unacceptable for Kevin McCarthy to provide 41,000 hours of sensitive security footage to Tucker Carlson, a biased talking head, in an effort to rewrite what happened on January 6th. Rep. Jordan objected to her statements, saying that the idea that the witnesses pose a threat is out of line.
The argument continued with Rep. Jordan accusing Del. Plaskett of engaging in false narratives and not caring about transparency. He also defended the witnesses, who he believes are brave individuals for being willing to come forward after being named in a letter from the Biden FTC.
The hearing was set to continue with the testimony of two journalists, Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger, who are authors of the Twitter files. Taibbi is a journalist and author who previously worked for Rolling Stone, while Shellenberger has co-founded several non-profits, including Breakthrough Institute and Environmental Progress.
