Asheboro, NC — During Wednesday's Trump-Vance 2024 Campaign Rally, GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Senator JD Vance (R-OH) delivered a robust endorsement of former President Donald Trump's foreign policy achievements. Speaking to a spirited crowd, Vance highlighted Trump's record in maintaining global peace and preventing unnecessary military conflicts, setting the stage for the 2024 election.
"Nothing matters in national security and foreign policy more than judgment," Vance declared, emphasizing the unpredictability of global crises. Reflecting on his own experiences, Vance noted how his adult life was marked by presidents who engaged in unwise wars, often failing to secure lasting victories. "It wasn't just Democrats," he acknowledged, "it was sometimes Republicans too."
Vance praised Trump's steadfastness in the face of pressure, both from the foreign policy establishment and within his own party. "In President Trump's four years in office, we had zero new wars. We had peace all over the world," Vance asserted, drawing applause from the audience.
Highlighting specific achievements, Vance cited the Abraham Accords, which Trump brokered in the Middle East, bringing a new level of stability to the region. "He created a long-term balance in Iran and Europe," Vance said, adding that Trump pushed European allies to take more responsibility for their own defense, easing the burden on the United States. "We ought to focus on our own security, not subsidize European welfare."
Addressing the frequent criticism that Trump was too lenient on Russia, Vance countered, "The only president of the last 20 years who had Russia not invade a neighbor was Donald J. Trump." He credited Trump's strong leadership for keeping Russia in check and preventing further aggression during his tenure.
Vance contrasted Trump's approach with the current administration, blaming Vice President Kamala Harris for the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. "Under Kamala Harris, Putin invaded Ukraine. But under Donald Trump, Putin didn’t do a damn thing," Vance remarked, drawing a clear line between the two administrations' foreign policy strategies.
The senator also pointed to Trump's diplomatic efforts in Asia, particularly with North Korea. Vance recalled Trump's historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, where Trump humorously engaged with the media, saying, "It means something to have a president who's not afraid to go into hostile territories, tell a few jokes, and actually engage in diplomacy that preserves peace."
In his closing remarks, Vance issued a stark warning: "All these Democrats lied about Donald Trump being the candidate of nuclear war. Donald Trump is the person who prevented nuclear war, and if we're not careful, Harris is going to walk us right into nuclear war."
With the 2024 election on the horizon, Vance's speech served as a powerful reminder of the Trump administration's foreign policy successes and set the tone for the campaign's focus on national security and global stability.
